Building on the Success of Electric Buses

The new electric tram project comes on the heels of the successful electric bus service, which is already serving over 90,000 daily commuters in Islamabad. This encouraging response has motivated the CDA to expand its electric public transport network.

As part of the expansion, four electric buses will also be allocated exclusively for CDA employees, ensuring cost-effective and environmentally friendly travel options within the organization.

In a unique move, the chairman also revealed plans to launch Pakistan’s first electric hearse bus, aiming to support citizens with a dignified and affordable transportation solution for funerals.
